Stormwater Retention for Surface Utility and Irrigation Re-use

A 20,000 gallon RainSpace Stormwater Retention Chamber was installed at an elementary school to store water collected from the school roof. The RainSpace Stormwater Retention Chamber is part of a student learning center focused on teaching gardening and planting, growing and harvesting vegetables, fruits and flowers with hands-on experience. The RainSpace Stormwater Retention Chamber is under a small grassy field between the school building and the garden plots. The stored water is used by the students to irrigate the gardens, using a solar powered pump, as they learn about water application rates and cycles. The RainSpace Stormwater Retention Chamber was installed with the assistance of the local county soil and water conservation district, the school district, and parent and service club support groups.
